The emergency weather warning sirens are scheduled to be tested on the first Tuesday of every month at 10am. They are activated, we verify that all 3 sirens in Kirkland as well as the newly installed one in Fairdale are operational, and then the test is cancelled. If any issues are encountered, the service company is contacted and dispatched to rectify whatever issues they find.
Unfortunately, due to a scheduling mix up, the sirens were not tested as they should have been last Tuesday on February 7th. Since we want to ensure the functionality and operational effectiveness of our sirens before the next scheduled test on March 7th, we will be testing the sirens next Tuesday, February 14th at 10am.
We want to get the word out to all our residents to make them aware of the testing so as not to cause any undue concern or angst. We will do our best to get this message out to everyone by any and all means necessary, so we would ask that if you’re receiving this message please make sure that your neighbors have as well.
Again, we want to apologize for any confusion and to reassure everyone that future testing of our emergency weather warning system will be tested every Tuesday at 10am.
