The Kirkland Lions Club holds an annual Easter Egg Hunt in April
at the Hiawatha School Football field, weather permitting.
The 2011 Kirkland Lions Easter Egg Hunt will be

Chamber of Commerce Christmas in Kirkland
The Greater Area Kirkland Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Christmas in Kirkland at the Alpine Bank from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on December 10th, 2011. Santa will be at the bank to visit with children, parents, and grandchildren. Faith World Outreach Church will put on its annual puppet shows dealing with the “Birth of Christ” as well as hold a live nativity scene down the street from the bank. Elementary children in the Hiawatha School District will be judged on art work and written essays. Free horse drawn wagon rides will be available for all members of the family. Holiday refreshments will be available at the bank and the live nativity scene.
If you are interested in having your house judge as part of the holidays, please stop into Alpine Bank or the Village Hall starting November 15th through December 2nd and complete a form so your house wlll be entered in the competition. Only homes registered at the bank or village hall will be judged in the contest. Houses will be judged on December 6th, 7th, & 8th with prizes awarded @ 10 AM at the bank on December 10th.
The Kirkland United Methodist Church will sponsor a breakfast and Christmas crafts will be made at the church from 7 AM to 10AM. If you have any questions about Christmas in Kirkland on December 10th, please contact Ken Brooks @ 815-522-9017.
