The Kirkland Lions Club will hold it’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt
on Saturday, March 30th 1 pm at the football field behind the Hiawatha High School, weather permitting. In case of bad weather, the event will be moved to the HS gym.

Chamber of Commerce Christmas in Kirkland
The Greater Area Kirkland Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Christmas in Kirkland at the Alpine Bank on December 1st, 2012 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Santa will be at the Bank to visit with children, parents, and grandchildren. Please feel welcome to take pictures of your child with Santa Claus. Santa will arrive at 9:00 A.M. by horse drawn wagon and the wagon will be available for free rides during the celebration. The Hiawatha Schools Band and Chorus will provide Holiday Music prior to the award presentation @ 10AM and after the presentation for all of our guests. Elementary children in the Hiawatha Schools will be judged on art work and written essays from grades K-8 and $25.00 prizes will be given for each winner at each grade level. Holiday refreshments will be available at the bank.
The Kirkland United Methodist Church will be sponsoring its annual breakfast from 7 AM to 10 AM. PLEASE BRING PAPER PRODUCTS FOR DONATION TO THE KIRKLAND FOOD PANTRY!!!!! Prices for adults will be $6.00, children $3.00, and children under four will be free. Christmas crafts will be made at the church during the breakfast.
If you are interested in having your house judged in the house lighting contest please get a form at the Alpine Bank, the Post Office and/or Village Hall starting November 5th. Only homes registered at these sights will be judged in the lighting contest. Judging of the houses will start on November 26th and the prizes will be awarded at the Alpine Bank @ 10 AM as well as the student prizes.
