Parking Notice

Please remember when parking it is unlawful to block or obstruct the sidewalk with any part of your vehicle. This also applies to any vehicle that is parked in your driveway that might be blocking the sidewalk. Police will be strictly enforcing this ordinance during the summer months as this impedes the foot traffic throughout the village. Any questions or concerns, please contact the Kirkland Police department at 815-522-3315.

The following list is of some of the residential projects which require a
building permit. Failure to obtain a permit prior to starting work will
result in double permit fees as well as other potential fines and penalties.
So please call the Building Inspector, ICCI, at 630-551-4224, if
you’re unsure.

Any New Building Construction

ANY Swimming Pool which contains water over 24″ deep
(a separate fence permit may be required as well)

Finishing a Residential Basement

To obtain an application for a building permit, visit the village hall at 511 W Main Street, Kirkland, IL 60146. Code books and other helpful printed materials are available at the village hall.
