Summer Safety Tips for Residents

Attention Residents:

As summer quickly approaches and school is about to let out, we wanted to remind everyone of a couple of safety/protection areas.

First, as the weather warms some public areas, such as parks or forest preserves, can see the presence of transients.  We ask that residents just be aware of their surroundings and report any concerns to the local Police Department.

Similarly, as the warmer weather approaches, municipalities see increased issues of theft, especially from vehicles, sheds and/or garages.  We encourage all our residents to ensure vehicles, sheds and garages are locked at night, no valuables can be seen or kept in your vehicles and park in well-lit areas when possible.

We hope that everyone can have a safe, memorable summer.  We hope that all the kids can return to some form of normalcy this summer.  We also look forward to the upcoming Kirkland  4th of July event and all that it brings to our Small Town!
