Attention Residents:
As we approach our first measurable snow in the coming week, we have a couple of reminders.
First, we ask that residents NOT push, shovel or place snow from their residence onto Village streets, especially after they have been cleared. State Law prohibits pushing or shoveling snow into public streets and citations can be issued if this becomes a reoccurring issue.
Secondly, please be aware that the Snow Parking Ban begins once 2″ of snow has fallen and remains in effect until all snow is removed from Village streets. Our Kirkland Public Works Department is typically very efficient with snow removal, but some events may require more time. We ask that vehicles remain clear until all snow removal activities are completed.
Lastly, Village of Kirkland Public Works has recently installed their reflective intersection markers throughout town. Unfortunately, nearly a third of these markers have been taken from numerous intersections. Please be aware that these markers are Village of Kirkland property and serve a purpose for our snow plowing crews, especially at night. Please be considerate and leave these markers in their designated intersections.
Kirkland Public Works often work numerous hours overnight clearing snow each year and their safety is our top concern. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with these matters!
The Village of Kirkland would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
